You (or anyone) got any ideas where I could find a plastic sealable submersible body?? I need to put my robot in it! Also something to hold the motors? I tried to google it but drew a big fat blanko.

This tip comes from Gordon McComb. If you haven't gotten his books yet I highly recommend these Robot Books.

He suggested buying a remote control submarine and retrofitting it for your needs. The average cost is between $50 to $200 so hopefully it is within your budget. For example, Tower hobbies has these submarine robots:


You might try other toy stores if this doesn't suit you. Go to each of their web site and use submarine as a search keyword.

Also, do a few Google searches using uuv as a keyword phrase. Try unmanned underwater vehicle too. If you get too much junk, add the keyword robot to the phrase. For example I found this article on building a low-cost UUV during a search with uuv.
