Cathy Brooks at The Guidewire Group interviewed Caleb Chung, the inventor of Pleo, at Demo 2006 during one of their Inside Innovators podcasts. They have a fascinating discussion about creating artificial life forms that form an emotional connection with people. The most telling statement during the interview came from Caleb Chung when he said quite simply "It's about people...". Normally you would expect the inventor of a hot new technology to make the central theme of an interview the features of their latest gizmo or the science behind it. Instead, Caleb clearly lets us know that when he designed Pleo, he was thinking of us instead of gears and sensors.
